Robert Strong

–

Riverdale, Utah

Robert (Bob) Allen Strong 70, of Riverdale Utah, passed away on October 24, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 11, 1956, in American Fork, Utah to John Thornton Strong and Elsie Mae Sturkie Strong. Bob was the fifth of six children and was raised in the Ogden area. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1974.

On June 29, 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, LaRue Hansen Strong. Together they raised five of the most precious children they could have asked for in Riverdale Utah. Bob was a devoted father and spent as much time as possible with their children.

He worked for The Prudential Insurance Company for 15 years and became a District Manager. He then started a new career selling Franchises for multiple companies. He ended his working career retiring from Farr’s Ice Cream company. He loved meeting new people and getting to know them. He was a friend to all and would give them anything they needed. He learned this from his good friend Makasini O. Makasini who he met in California. He was always very generous and shared his home with many visitors over the years.

Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to his eternal companion in the Ogden Temple on July 5, 1975. He had a strong testimony and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a valiant servant and served in many callings in his life including volunteering at McKay Hospital on the Religious Care Committee with his wife LaRue until the time of his death. He loved this calling and they served and became fast friends with the finest people. He has touched many people in his life and has been a force for good. He is fondly loved by many! He lived with enthusiasm and loved to play tennis, ski, watch all sports on TV (especially BYU football) and loved to spend time in the mountains camping at Marsh Lake with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, LaRue Hansen Strong, five children Alan (Jami), Melanie (Chris), Austin (Adrienne), MacLane (Tanya) and Chelsea (Nathan) and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sister (Mary), brother (Gerald), brother (Larry), his brother-in-law (Mike Farr), and Two granddaughters, Kennedie and Kassidie Provost.
