Robert Charles Tucker peacefully passed away July 10, 2013 at the age of 92 in the home that he had built. He was born on February 21, 1921 in Milton, Utah to Charles and Ardella Tucker. They moved to Ogden in his early years where he attended Dee school. He later moved to Idaho Falls where he attended high school and college.
During World War II he served in the coast guard. He was standing in Times Square when it was announced World War II was over.
He married Angie Hoffmann July 29, 1945 in Ogden, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
He spent his life's work building and remodeling homes and businesses in the area. At the halfway point of his career he had built 57 homes in the area. He wanted to be sure that his mother, siblings and children all had good homes to live in and worked to that end.
The true focus of his life was his family and extended family. He cared for his mother after his father passed. He daily administered to his sister as she was suffering from cancer and became guardian of her children after her passing. He was the person his siblings, family and friends turned to for guidance, counsel and direction.
He is survived by his children, Brent (Nancy) Tucker, Salt Lake City, Gayleen Tucker, Ogden, Robert (Vicki) Tucker, Orange, CA and Jeff (Laurie) Tucker, Kaysville. He had seven grandchildren, Shawn Tucker, Corrine Nelson, John Berrett, Jeff Tucker, Courtney Tucker, Ellie Tucker and Jacob Tucker; also seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie and his son, Charles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
