Roger Dale Gillman
August 16, 1946 - March 9, 2016
Roger Dale Gillman left us on the quiet afternoon of March 9, 2016. He was born on August 16, 1946, to James Madison Gillman and Myrtle Dixie Evans, in Berwind, West Virginia. He grew up in a small West Virginia town, his father was a coal miner, and mother a homemaker. Roger had a fond memory of a childhood with his three brothers and one sister. In 1966, at the age of 18, he joined the Air Force. Shortly after joining the military, he met the love of his life, Karen Moorehead. They were married July 20, 1968, in Elko, Nevada, and had 3 beautiful children.
Roger had a passion for collecting and working on hot rods. He could be found almost every Sunday at the swap meet with his lifelong friend, Stan.
Roger is survived by his son Glen D. Gillman, daughters-in-law, Ericka Gillman and Jenny Carroll; grandsons, Thairique, Mason and Owen, granddaughters, Satyra, Shaliy, Nevaeha, and Alicia. He is also survived by his brothers, Raymond Gillman, and David Gillman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Gillman, brother John Gillman, wife, Karen M. Gillman, daughter, Kelly C. Gillman and son Brian K. Gillman. Roger will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but hold a place in our hearts forever.
