Roger Allen Hill, 88, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024 at Hidden Valley Assisted Living. He was born on March 31,1936 in Ogden, Utah to Alvin and Katherine McFarlane Hill. He grew up in Ogden, living much of his adult life in Roy.
He graduated from Ben Lomond High School. Soon after graduation, he began a career at Hill Air Force Base. He worked there from 1954 to 1993 in various roles, retiring as part of the Computer Systems Group. He enjoyed genealogy, camping, the outdoors, and spending time with family.
Roger married his neighborhood friend and sweetheart, Sally Little on August 18, 1958 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on April 29, 1964. Roger and Sally's most cherished possession was their family. They gave their all to love, support, and encourage each one. They also felt incredibly blessed by the influence of several life-long friends.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities. He lived the gospel of Jesus Christ by his quiet actions of love and service. Roger was a gentle man of few words. Those close to him witnessed powerful sermons in his Christ-like actions. Those who knew him - loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sally, a son, Mikel, and his parents.
Roger is survived by two children - Cindy (David) Runstrom of Vaugh, MT, and Brian (Betty) Hill of Morgan, UT, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and brother Jim (Becky) Hill.
The family would like to thank the exceptional team at Hidden Valley Assisted Living and the hospice team at A Plus, who went above and beyond caring for him and showing compassion during this tender time.
A graveside service will be held at the Ogden Cemetery on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
