Roxanne Dickey

–

Brigham City, Utah

Roxanna Kay Day Dickey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend departed this life on June 25, 2024. Born on August 8, 1937, in Ogden, Utah. Roxanna was a beacon of warmth and love for her family. She graduated from Kuna High School in ID, Brigham Young University and attended Utah State University. She spent her life nurturing those around her, whether it was through her profession as an elementary school teacher in the Box Elder School District for over 30 years, or through her role as a devoted wife to Desmond Callis Dickey, whom she married on June 25, 1959 in The Manti Utah Temple.
Roxanna was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a deep love for the arts, participating and directing in many plays at Heritage Theatre. She also participated in BYU Utah, Riverside California, Ogden and Brigham Symphony's. Her hobbies were as diverse as her interests ranging from painting, music, knitting, reading, camping, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, gardening, genealogy, and sewing. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Roxanna was also deeply involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Primary Teacher, in the Primary Presidency, Stake Presidency, Sunday School, and served with her husband on a Senior Couples Full Time Mission to New Hampshire Manchester Mission.
Roxanna's life was guided by her unwavering love for her family and her deep commitment to her faith. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared. We remember the love, joy, and warmth she brought into this world.
Roxanna is survived by her husband, Desmond Dickey, her daughter Sherrilyn Stocks, her son John Dickey (Pauline). She is preceded in death by her parents Paul Day and Lora Parson Day, her sister Ardella (Terrell) McMullin, and her son-in-law Jim Stocks.
Roxanna's family would like to extend a special thanks to all the caregivers from Brigham City Community Hospital, Maple Springs and Aegis Hospice.
