Brigham City, UT

BRIGHAM CITY - Ruby Maxine (Macky) Johnson Harlow passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday August 28, 2010 from natural causes. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fulton Harlow and her son Robert Randall Harlow.
Maxine was born in Brigham City, UT on June 12, 1922 to Charles & Bessie Johnson. Sadly, she lost both her parents by the time she was 7 years old. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Ace and Cora Robinette, who raised her as their daughter and she called them Mom and Dad. She graduated in 1940 from Box Elder High School.
Maxine married Robert in Brigham City on January 5, 1941. A few years later they moved to Southern California, then Northern California where they made their home until they returned to Brigham City in 1991 for their retirement years. They were sealed on January 13, 1996 in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Maxine was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and making ceramics. She was an extremely good seamstress. She was a talented crafts maker and her home was filled with many of these crafts during the holidays. She also loved animals and had many dogs, cats and birds that shared her life.
Maxine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who came to visit from out of state. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sister Shelley. They often had lunch together and would laugh and spend hours reminiscing about their lives. Shelley was a very special sister to her and was greatly loved by Maxine.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Ford, sister (cousin) Shelley Nichols, cousins Bruce (Berniece) Robinette and Craig (Kris) Robinette. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Sherril Harlow, grandsons Jordan and Matthew Harlow, granddaughters Jaime (Richard II) Erickson and Shannon (Frank) Groesbeeck, great granddaughter Savannah Groesbeeck, and great grandson Richard Erickson III, as well as several second and third cousins and friends.
Her daughter Kimberly would like to express her immense appreciation to Sharon Willie and the staff at Alpine Hospice in Brigham City, as well as her private CNA's Ashley Marks and Katie Johnson for their wonderful and loving care of Maxine in her final weeks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00 to 1:40 p.m. at the Mortuary.
