Ruby Violet Ovard Moore

HOOPER-Ruby Violet Ovard Moore, 87, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center.

She was born March 5, 1928 in Henefer, Utah to George Thomas Ovard and Mable Violet (Carter) Ovard. She grew up in Henefer, Utah and attended North Summit High School. She later met the love of her life Vernon Ward Moore. They met on a blind date, which turned into a lifetime of love and happiness. She married Vern on April 30, 1948. They built and spent 67 wonderful years together in Hooper, Utah. Ruby worked at IRS for 30 years, she also spent much of her time working on the farm with Vern. After she retired from IRS, Ruby and Vern spent a majority of their winters traveling to Yuma, Arizona.

Ruby enjoyed doing handwork including crocheting, plastic canvas, macramAC. and doilies. She also enjoyed camping with her family and friends and spoiling her grandkids. She always shared her loving and kind heart with anyone that crossed her path. Last but not least she loved her sweets!
She is survived by her husband Vernon Ward Moore, her son Thomas James Moore, daughter-in-law Bonnie Moore, and nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is her brother Evertt (LaNae) Ovard and her sister-in-law Joy Ovard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law Mary Moore, her son Dan Moore and brother Ralph Ovard.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooper Homestead Ward, 5375 S. 5900 W., Hooper. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy and Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
