Rulon Lee Obituary (1925

Roy-Rulon Lee, 76 beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at his home in Roy. He was born April 8, 1925, in Montello, Nevada, son of Edward Lee and Rhonda Annie Paskett. Rulon joined the Navy March 16, 1943, serving in the Mediterranean for three years after which he was honorably discharged from service. He served a two-year mission to the Southern States in 1949, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rulon married Shirley Nish, daughter of Robert H. and Cassie Dean Hyde, on October 16, 1951 in the Logan Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base with 33 years service. Rulon was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. At the time of his death he was serving as Finance Clerk, a position which he held for 33 years. Other positions he served in were the Elders Quorum Presidency and Sunday School Presidency. Rulon is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Nish Lee, children, Gary R. (Arlea), Clearfield, UT; Carolyn (Dave) Stout, Rogers, AR; Janice (Rick) Oborn, Ogden, UT; Cory R.(Barbara), Plain City, UT; Bonnie (E.J.) Dobbins, Hastings, MI; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survivied by four brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. His greatest pride and joy, other than his family, was his garden. Oh give me the love of a little child, tender, pure, and sweet. With dimpled arms about my neck, my rapture is complete. I love the touch of the rosy lips as they're pressed against my cheek; I'm not in pace with the world's mad race, 'tis the love of a child I seek. Oh, give me the love of children dear, as I journed down life's way; It helps me live my life more true, and brightens my path each day. I do not covet houses nor lands, for riches I am not wild, but my heart would break, if from me you'd take the love of a little child. Oh, give me the love of a little child, while on this earth I stay. May little faces hover near when I am called away. May children's voices welcome me, when I shall cross the bar, and lead the way to the Lord of Day, through the gate that stands ajar. We love and miss you.
