Russ Tower, born October 11, 1968 in Grand Rapids, MI, to Daniel and Peggy Scoby Tower, left this world February 20, 2011 in Syracuse, UT.
Russ was a loving family man who always went out of his way to take care of those around him. He had a deep love for his family and always did what he could to let them know of that love. His daughters were the lights of his life and his grandsons were the wind beneath his wings. His wife was the "girl he had waited for to come into his life". Every day he was with us was a blessing.
Russ served proudly in the United States Army from 1989-1992. He was a proud Paratrooper of the 82nd airborne. He served during the Just Cause and Desert Storm periods.
Russ was an avid hunter. His favorite pastimes were hiking and camping in Silver Meadows.
Russ leaves behind his wife, Kathy; daughters, Michelle and Penny; grandsons, Gabe and Cooper, of Syracuse, UT ; and daughter, Audrie (Chad) Hansen, Preston, ID. His father, Dan Tower of White Cloud, MI; brother, Dave Tower of Pierce, MI and sister, Wendy Eckert of Big Rapids, MI. He is preceded in death by his mother and one sister.
He also leaves behind many brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews who will miss him greatly.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Trailside Ward Chapel, 2887 West 2700 South, Syracuse, UT. Family and friends may gather Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, UT and from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Syracuse City Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
