Ruthann (Flegal) Worthing Obituary (1957 - 2019)

Our mom, grandma and friend, Ruth Ann Worthing passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 after being diagnosed with Cryptogenic Cirrhosis. Ruth Ann was born, with her twin brother; Randy, in Grants, New Mexico in an adobe hut on November 9, 1957 to Alden and Josephine (Michalek) Flegal. She was raised in California with her 6 siblings. Ruth Ann married her first husband and had their first child, Odell, in California and then moved to Willard, Utah where they had their daughters, Amber Lee and Holly Ann. Soon after the girls arrived, they moved to Brigham City. Ruth Ann and her first husband would later divorce. She then married Chet Worthing on April 14, 1989. They lived very happily together until Chet's death in 2009. Ruth Ann was raised as a Catholic and then was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an adult. Mom loved to visit teach, prepare primary lessons and learn of the gospel. She also served in the Relief Society and Family History. Her favorite Apostle was President Boyd K. Packer and she even invited him to her baptism. Sadly, he wasn't able to make it, but they became pen pals and wrote each other many times. Mom LOVED her grandchildren more than anything in the world. Gaje (Kristen), Brooke, Brandie, Jackson and Zane brought nothing but joy and fun to her life. She was constantly buying them things when they were little, watching game shows with them, had fires in thebackyard and played never-ending video games with them. Many times, she had them begging her to stop playing for the night. She often became an adopted grandma for their friends, too. She loved having a full house of kids in the summer and after school. Mom was known to be very meticulous in her yard. She was constantly trying to keep it up and had the most beautiful plants. She was very detailed in everything that she did. She made blankets for most of her family and was working on one for Amber. She loved her pets like family and spoiled them completely. She is survived by her son, Odell (Nicole Whitaker) Huddleston III, daughter Amber (John) Bignell and 6 grandkids. She has 3 siblings out of state. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Ann, husband, twin brother, parents and 2 sisters. Viewings will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT . Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
