Sandra Kaye Atkinson

An Angel, our sweet mother, Sandra K. Atkinson, was called home into the loving arms of her Father in Heaven. Our dear precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister left her earthly life for heaven on September 8, 2014. She was born October 17, 1940 to Marion Clark and Spencer Wilkins Young.

She leaves behind one daughter, Kimberly; three sons, Tony (Debra), James (Penny), Andy (Marilyn); 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Gaye, and a brother Gail. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Marion Young, and one son, Robert.

Sandra was a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She faced many hard trials throughout her life but always remained strong and valiant in her love and compassion for her family and others. Family was more important to mom than anything else. She loved her Father in Heaven and her Savior. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends; she adored her two cats, loved visiting yard sales, attending Pow-Wows, and storage auctions.

Interment will be at Syracuse City Cemetery, 1290 South 1000 West, where family will celebrate her incredible life. Per mom's request, graveside services will be held for immediate family on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
