S Ruth Corbin Leimbach Obituary (2007)

RUTH CORBIN LEIMBACH Sarah Ruth Corbin Leimbach passed away May 18th in Bountiful, Utah. Ruth was born to James Baker Corbin and Leigh Anna Elizabeth Trout Corbin on September 24th, 1912 in Sharon Tennessee. Ruth grew up in Dupo, Illinois, graduating from Dupo High School. She graduated from The Saint Louis College of Pharmacy in December of 1933 and became a Registered Pharmacist in April of 1934. In September of 1977 Ruth retired from her career in Pharmacy at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She married Ernst August Leimbach February 29th, 1936 in Dupo, Illinois and moved to California. In 1942 they returned to Illinois to live on a farm in Alton where Ruth had lived as a child. This remained the family home until Ruth became ill in 2001 and moved back to California to reside with her oldest daughter Rachel. In 2005 Ruth moved to Layton, Utah to be cared for by her daughter Beth. Prior to her move Ruth was an active member of The Congregational United Church of Christ, Godfrey, Illinois. There she was a member of Mary Martha Circle and taught Sunday School as a part of adult Christian Education. Her favorite pastimes were reading, quilting and gardening. She was a longtime member of Make Today Count volunteering in Hospice Care and Heartland Quilter's Guild of Alton, Illinois. Ruth is survived by 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Daughter Rachel (Anthony) Maus of Mission Viejo, CA; their children Victoria Maus of North Hollywood, CA. and Geoffrey Baker Maus of Mission Viejo. Daughter Katharine (William) Chiaramonte of Fairfax, VA; their children James Seth Chiaramonte (wife Christy) of Seymour, CT and Alicia Chiaramonte Cutright (husband Timothy) of Southbridge, VA. Daughter Elizabeth (Daniel) Ehrhardt of Layton, UT; their son Corbin Ehrhardt of Layton and Beth's son Matthew Leimbach (wife Angela and children Matthew and Chyler) of Madrid, NM. Ruth's husband, Ernie, preceded her in death in 1981. Memorial Services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah on Sunday May 27th at 3:00 in the afternoon with The Reverend Don Krafft officiating.
