Saxton M. Jones Batchelor Obituary (1918 - 2007)

Saxon M. Jones Batchelor HOOPER - Saxon M. Jones Batchelor "Marie" passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at her daughter's home in Ivins, Utah. Saxon was born July 27, 1918 to Wilford Ray and Celcia Ann Webb Jones in Eureka, Utah. Raised in Ioka, Duchense County, Utah. Graduated from Union High School and attended BYU. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was an original member of the Hooper Third Ward. Serving in many callings in the Primary, Young Women, Sunday School and Relief Society. Worked as a nurse at the Dee Hospital and retired from the Clearfield Clinic. While attending BYU, WW II broke out and she moved to Ogden, Utah to work at the Arsenal (HAFB) to do her part in the war effort. There she met her eternal sweetheart LaRoy E. Batchelor. They were married on May 5, 1943 and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on September 29, 1948. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1967. Survived by children: William R. "Bill" (Karen) Batchelor of Hooper; LaRue B. (Kenneth) Ingram of Ivins; Gaelyn A."lyn" Hyer of Layton; Joan "Joni" (Steve) Weaver of Pleasant View; and Grant L. (Annette) Batchelor of Roy; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Third Ward, 5601 South 6100 West. Friends and family may call on Friday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
