Seaward L. Murray (Skip) Obituary (1931 - 2009)

Seaward L. "Skip" Murray ROY - Seaward L. "Skip" Murray, 78, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his home in Roy. He was born February 16, 1931 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to Gerald E. and Thelma May Ball Murray. Skip married Donna Marie Hughes on July 21, 1951 in Franklin, Pennsylvania. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. He attended Titusville and Oil City, Pennsylvania public schools. He has lived in Oil City, Pennsylvania for 43 A 1/2 years and Woodward, Oklahoma for 6 1/2/ years and Roy, Utah for 8 years. He was of Protestant faith. Skip worked for over 40 years as a machinist/then supervisor for U.S. Steel, Imperial Works, (Oil Well Supply), Ajax Iron Works, Corry, Pennsylvania, Local machine shops in Oil city area, National Oilwell in Oklahoma, taught Blueprinting in Oklahoma school, he also worked for Acutus Mold in Oil City, Max Strictland Company, and Minich Brothers. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, playing cards and going to Jackpot, NV. He is survived by his wife Donna of Roy; and children: Jo Anne (Art) Brostrom of Hawaii; Susan L. (Kevin) Nielson of Roy; David L. Murray of Franklin, Pennsylvania, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are siblings: Richard P. Murray of Pennsylvania; James E. Murray of Texas; Gerald E. Murray of Texas; Ronald G. Murray of New York; Bruce E. Murray of Texas; Katherine Holdsworth of Texas.
