Sharon T. Bradley Blackburn- 1949-2024, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend was born September 30, 1949, in Gunnison, Utah to Kenneth C. and Lena P. (Deleeuw) Taylor, with a full head of dark curly hair. Sharon passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2024. She had recently celebrated her 75th birthday surrounded by her beloved family.
Sharon spent much of her childhood in Wayne County, Utah, spending the summers with her grandparents and her uncles working on the family dairy farm, so much time they eventually just enrolled her in school, there. She later graduated from Kearns High where she was honored with the “Betty Crocker Homemaking” award.
She began her career working as an aide in her children’s elementary school where she worked her way to the main office of Jordan School District, completing her career as the business administrator at the Children’s Center of Utah for over 30 years, she retired in 2019. She enjoyed her work and the friends she made while working there.
Sharon loved to crochet, garden, read, feed the birds that frequented her yard, and spend time with her 3 cats. She had an inspiring green thumb, which helped bloom the world around her. She was able to travel and see the world, often aboard a cruise ship. She loved spending time in her beautiful home. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma. She was a caregiver and a nurturing person to anyone she met. Everyone was welcome to sit at her dining room table for a cup of coffee, read the Salt Lake Tribune, and to watch the birds. She always had a listening ear and calm demeanor. Her house was filled with love, laughter, and everyone became family.
She is survived by her children, Michelle K. Bradley and Michael (Connie) Bradley; her stepson, Gary Blackburn; her brothers, Robert (Lorraine) Taylor and Roger (Pat) Taylor; her 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her three well-loved cats Lady, Sir, and Glitzy.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Clement (C.J) Blackburn; as well as her parents.
We know that their reunion was joyous.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at Myers Mortuary, 250 N Fairfield Road Layton, Utah. We encourage those in attendance to wear bright colors, to celebrate her joy of flowers, her favorite color was purple.
