In the quiet serenity of Ogden, Utah, the world bid farewell to a truly remarkable soul, Janet Sharon Steed, also known as Sharon Steed, on the 4th of September, 2026. Born on the 13th of June, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Sharon was a beacon of unwavering love and support, lighting up the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. Her journey of 91 years was adorned with a myriad of accomplishments and experiences that testified to her many talents.
Sharon's life was a vibrant symphony of love, dedication, and service, much like the harmonious melodies she created on the piano and organ. Her love for music extended to directing the Ogden symphonic choir and playing the organ for the Ogden Temple. Recognized as a reliable cornerstone within her community, Sharon was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her love for travel resulted in her and her husband’s service as a volunteer for the Oregon State Parks, something she took pride in.
Sharon's life was a living embodiment of the quote, "The heart that loves is always young." She was a supportive and loving mother to her son, Bryan E. Steed (Nanette Steed) and daughters Michelle Stone and Cara J Steed. She is also survived by her sister Julie Mann and brother Bill Mann. Her undying love for her family and church were the constant threads that wove the tapestry of her life together. She was the beloved wife of the late Dale Steed, and the cherished daughter of her late parents, William and Virginia Mann. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Patty Openshaw and Joan Simons. She is also survived by 5 grand children and 7 great grand children.
In the wake of her departure, we are reminded of the powerful legacy of love and dedication Sharon leaves behind. We invite you to celebrate Sharon's life by sharing your memories and photographs of her on the memorial page. Through each shared memory and picture, her life will continue to touch us all, just as she intended.
