Sheldan G Manning Obituary (1947 - 2013)

Syracuse - Sheldan G. Manning, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 3, 2013. He was born on September 20, 1947 to Beth Shoell and Harry Manning in American Fork, Utah. He attended Rick's College, Dixie College, and BYU. He served in the Central States United States mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Vivian Lynn Stanger in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1978; they were married for 32 A 1/2 years. He was a retired Driver's Education instructor for Job Corps. He liked to play the guitar, music, fishing, camping, hunting, basketball, football, baseball, police shows, old funny movies, going to concerts, and spending time with his family. Special thanks to Bishop Loosli, the Jensen Park Ward members and home teachers, to his close friends, and to all those who have helped in any way during this difficult time. He is survived by a son, Giles Lance Manning; a daughter, Alisha Lynn Manning; three grandchildren, BreAa Adara Foreman, Teara Jade Bennett, and RyaLynn Graciano; and a sister, Loralee Manning. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, in 2011; his parents; and 3 brothers, Harry Dell Jr. (Bussie), Marlow S., and Sherlin Jon Manning. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Syracuse Jensen Park Ward, 1200 West 3024 South, Syracuse, Utah. Family and friends may gather Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah and at the church Saturday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
