Shelly Sue Thompson Edmunds Obituary (2008)

Shelly Sue (Thompson) Edmunds, 40, born August 18, 1967 took her final breath March 2, 2008. She was the daughter of James W Thompson and Ellen Sue (Adkins) Thompson. Shelly married Mark Edmunds on March 24, 1990 at Hill AFB, Utah. Shelly found so much peace and happiness in Mark's loving arms. Shelly was a loving mother to two children, Tristan and Kwyn. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Jim and Kathy Thompson, Brigham City, her mother, Ellen Sue Thompson, Clinton, a sister, Pattie Sue Adkins, Yorba Linda, California, a brother, Chris Thompson, Clinton, 2 grandmothers, Ellen Adkins, Clinton and Betty Thompson, Mountain Green, 3 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her special friend Bonzai. She was secretary of class her senior year in high school, receiving two scholarships. Shelly received a bachelors degree in Nursing, a Masters degree in health administration and was an RN. Shelly served in the Army National Guard after graduating from college for two years. Shelly lived in Layton, Alabama, Ohio and Florida. She delighted in her family, and will forever remain in our hearts. She found great satisfaction being actively engaged in crafting and enjoyed activities with her many friends and neighbors, whom she loved dearly. Her family will miss her greatly, and thank all who have shown their love and compassion. Thank you also to the medical professionals for the respect you gave to Shelly. Shelly was preceded in death by two grandfathers, James C Thompson, and Everett Adkins, her brother, James Todd Thompson, an aunt, Christine Scott, sister-in-law Laure Edmunds, and her two special friends Ice and Alaska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Layton. Friends and family may visit on Thursday evening, March 6 2008 from 6- 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield, in Layton. A Symbol of Hope, a butterfly, lights beside us like a sunbeam, and for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world.
