Sherryl Ann Merrill Obituary (1950 - 2013)

Arizona - Sherryl Ann Hunt Merrill passed through the veil to return to her Heavenly Father on May 14, 2013. Our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother was truly a treasure to us all. We will miss her greatly. Sherryl was born on August 14, 1950 in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Darrel and Geneil Hunt (deceased). She attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High School, where she met the love of her life, Robert Merrill, and they were married (March 11, 1972), after he returned home from the Vietnam conflict. They were married 42 years and were blessed with two children and two grandchildren. Sherryl worked briefly for Andy's Chuck Wagon before choosing a career with Mountain Bell Telephone and moving on to AT&T, Lucent and Expanet. She enjoyed her career for over 30 years and received numerous accolades. She enjoyed camping, picnics, shopping, and music, but her favorite was having parties for family members on holidays. You could always count on her to bring the family together. She loved her family deeply, as we loved her. Sherryl is survived by her loving husband, Robert Merrill; father, Darrel Hunt (Larenna); brothers, Douglas Hunt, Bruce Hunt; daughter, Natalee Smith; son, Brian Merrill (Terri) and grandsons, Carson Smith and Nicolas Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Goldenwest C.U., under Sherryl Merrill, towards a college fund for Carson and Nicolas.
