Shirl Bernard Olson Obituary (1928 - 2021)

Shirl Bernard Olson, son of Bernard and Verda Fowles Olson, born September 3, 1928 died peacefully after a short illness on August 12, 2021. Shirl served in the US Airforce during the Korean War from 1949-1953. He was stationed in Germany. He married Barbara Jean Southwick on February 6, 1953, they celebrated 66 years together until her passing in 2019. He was the father of Susan (Ray) Wasden and Steven (Heidi) Olson. Shirl is survived by his children; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Don (Linda), Ray (Kathy) Olson; sister, Betty (Ron) Colledge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Olson; sister, Lorraine Bump. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. We love you dad and know that you are in a better place with family that has passed before you. "Till We Meet Again." Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. at American Fork Cemetery, 26 West 600 North, American Fork, Utah where military honors will be accorded.
