Shirley Ann Cosgrove

CLINTON - Our Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Shirley Ann Cosgrove, 68, passed away peacefully at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by her family and her Pastor.

She was born in Washington, DC on May 23, 1940, a daughter of Perry and Opal Bastain. She was raised and educated in Indian Head, Maryland.

She married Jack Barnard in 1961 in Indian Head, Maryland. They had one son and one daughter and were later divorced. She married the love of her life Robert Cosgrove in 1966 in Indian Head, Maryland. She was a military wife and lived in Indian Head, Maryland, Phoenix, Arizona, Norfolk, Virginia, Andana, Turkey and finally making her home for the last 30 years in Utah.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Every Saturday she would go out to dinner with her son. Every, Sunday she went to church and out to eat with her husband. She was a member of the Layton Hills Baptist Church for 30 years. She loved her dog Lokie and had recently lost her other dog Muffy who she is now with. She enjoyed trips to Wendover where she would sit on one slot machine for eight hours or more and never move. She was one of the luckiest people in the world on those machines.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Alan Cosgrove of Clinton; son, Jimmy (Stephanie)Barnard of Syracuse; two granddaughters, Krystal Barnard of Salt Lake City; Sierra Byrne of Roy; one grandson, Jonathan Byrne of Clearfield; six great-grandkids, Elijah, Taylee and Sadie Calkins of Clinton; Rachelle, Eian and Halie Byrne of Clearfield. Also surviving are two sisters, Rosalie (Ed) McBride, Nanjemoy, Maryland; Marie (Scott) Grieninger of Indian Head, Maryland; one brother, Butch (Brenda) Bastain, of Marbury, Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-mother Agnes Bastain, sister, Mary-Lou, daughter, Debbie Byrne who she loved so much and two grandkids, Joey Calkins and Rachell Byrne.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at McKay Dee Hospital.
