Shon Brent Leatherow August 28, 1977 - February 12, 2014 Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Shon was born on August 28, 1977 in Ogden Utah to R. Lamar and Glenna Leatherow. He died of natural causes on February 12, 2014. He attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High school. Shon was one of the Lord's special spirits sent to teach us all how to enjoy life. He was an avid outdoorsman to the extent his body would allow. He spent many hours watching his 49'ers and Jazz play with his many nephews, while yelling instructions to the players. He competed in the Special Olympics and won several medals. He was a member of the special needs scouts and was proud to have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Farr West 5th ward where he was currently serving as the 2nd counselor in the Sunday School. He loved to attend the temple with his friends from the special needs mutual and went almost every week. Shon was preceded in death by his father Lamar Leatherow, Grandparents Glenn and Norma Thomas and his Grandfather William Leatherow. He is survived by his mother Glenna Leatherow, Grandmother Barbara Leatherow and siblings Dale (Eileen), Tom (Shar), Jerred, Tesserin (Blake) Watkins, Joshua (Jennifer) and Amandi; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews as well as the love of his life Sam Clark. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The Sportsman for Habitat Youth Fund at The Bank of Utah. They provided Shon with many opportunities to hunt. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Farr West 5th Ward, 3300 North 2565 West. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and Monday prior to the service at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
