Stella Loy Lauritzen Leishman Obituary (1927

ROY - Stella Loy Lauritzen Leishman passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Loy was born December 6, 1927 to Heber and Stella Obray Lauritzen in Cache Valley Utah. She grew up in Hyrum, Utah where she graduated from South Cache High School. She met her eternal companion, Grant Purser Leishman, at the League Dance Hall in Hyrum Utah. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple and have been married for 63 years. They were blessed with nine beautiful children. Loy was a faithful, covenant woman, valiant in her testimony of Jesus Christ. She served as a Relief Society President, a missionary companion to her husband in the Sacramento CA Mission, and as a temple worker in the Ogden LDS Temple for 12 years. She was a committed member of DUP and valued her pioneer hertiage. Through devotion and creativity Loy made a home for her family of ten. Mom was a peacemaker who taught her children to do what was right. She left us with a heritage of qualities and attributes we hope to pattern our lives after. Loy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Libbie Poppleton and Lynn Lauritzen and an infant daughter. She is survived by her husband and eight children, Nolan (Kristy), Michael (Rochelle), Angalee (Norvin) Thompson, Rebecca (Mark) Tolman, Durrell, Corey (Dorothy), Eric (Tamra), and Richard (Carol) and one sister Faye Johnson. She leaves 27 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Municipal Park Ward, 5930 South 2200 West, Roy. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services.
