Stroh DeCaire Obituary (1971 - 2023)

Stroh Leonard DeCaire, age 51, of Kaysville, Utah, died suddenly Tuesday, April 4, 2023. A memorial service will be held in Kaysville Friday, April 7, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held in his hometown of Corunna, Michigan at a later date. Stroh was born in Flint, Michigan on July 22, 1971 to Joseph and Barbara (Baryo) DeCaire. He was a graduate of Corunna High School. He served in the US Air Force and later graduated from Weber State University. He worked in the defense industry for Lockheed Martin, which gave him the opportunity to travel the world. He was currently employed by the Utah Education Network (UEN) as a field engineer. He was very actively involved in his community, volunteering for NPR and chairing the annual Kaysville 4th of July Parade. He proudly served as chairman of the Davis County Democratic Party and was elected to the Kaysville City Council where he served on the Planning Commission. Stroh was a LEGO enthusiast and loved music, politics, and nature. He especially enjoyed exploring Southern Utah as well as Northern Michigan. He is survived by his mother, Barbara; his three children, Madisyn DeCaire (with fiance Tiauna Lomax), Lilly Brume (with husband Jayden Brume), and Micah DeCaire; along with granddaughter, Blake Brume. He also leaves brothers, Scot and Brien; sister, Amanda Root; nieces, Isabel and Harper Root; and nephews, Lennon and Felix DeCaire; grandmother, Marion Baryo; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe DeCaire; grandparents, Leonard Baryo, Leonard and Florence DeCaire; brother-in-law, DJ Root. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name are suggested to the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, or National Public Radio (NPR). Stroh had a larger than life personality. He made a lasting impression on the lives he touched and the countless friends he made along the way. He will be greatly missed. Services under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Layton
