Tab Lee Thompson, 64, of Farr West, Utah passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at home, 6 1/2 years after suffering a traumatic brain injury at work. Lee was born in Ogden, Utah on August 12, 1957, to Vern and Wanda Thompson.
While he drove truck for many construction companies over the years, his calling was breeding training and racing horses. He trained many champions in the intermountain area and also with his brother Wayne at Los Alamitos Race Course. Together the two brothers entertained some of the world's most successful horsemen with their childhood tales of shenanigans, including miniature rodeos and breaking colts.
He loved the horse industry so much that he made sure to marry a horsewoman and raise his kids with his same passions. He attended many barrel races with Suzanne his wife of 35 years and taught his boys Jesse and Cory that breeding leads to babies. So much so that Cory told his kindergarten teacher that his mom and dad went to the barn every night to breed.
Lee is survived by his wife Suzanne, sons Jesse (Tara) and Cory (Morgan), the light of his life his grandson Trig (Come a Riding), brother Wayne (Becky), and other family. He is preceded in Heaven by his parents, brother Larry, nephew Brad and many-many friends.
The family would like to thank Rehab Without Walls, especially Jose, Urbain, Racheal and Trina.
Lee wrote his epitaph many years ago: "Loving Husband, Father, Son, and one hay stacking son of a Bitch"
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a nearby park when it warms up this Spring.
