Tetsu Nishitomi Obituary (1922 - 2001)

OGDENa"Tetsu Nishitomi, 79, honorably discharged veteran, passed away peacefully at home due to complications from cancer, on Monday, September 3, 2001. He was born to Bunsuke and Raku Nishitomi on July 24, 1922, and was raised in Maui, Hawaii. He and his sister were co-owners and co-workers of "N and W Market" in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he worked for almost 20 years. Although never married, he lived with and helped support his widowed sister and two nieces, Gerianne (Watanabe) Forbes and Paula (Watanabe) Kashiwaeda. He moved to Ogden, Utah in July of 1992 to continue to help and support his sister, niece and her family. He was recently baptized and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah. His sister, Miriam Fumiko Watanabe, stepsisters, Sadako Matsumura and Kiyomi Hirasuna, and sister-in-law, Katherine Nishitomi, his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive him. A private rosary and Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah. Interment of ashes will be in Hawaii in the summer of 2002.
