Thelma N Pearson Russell Obituary (1925 - 2018)

Thelma N Pearson Russell peacefully passed away on April 2, 2018 at the age of 92. Thelma was born on July 2, 1925 in Mink Creek, Idaho to Perry and Hannah Pearson where she lived with her 8 siblings. She graduated from Preston High School before moving to Utah. Thelma married Ray Joseph Russell on June 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage until Ray's death in 2011. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she held numerous positions and was proud of her work. She worked as a civilian servant at Hill Air Force Base until her retirement in 1979. After retirement she and Ray enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Thelma had many hobbies but truly enjoyed crocheting, playing canasta, and collecting Beanie Babies! Thelma is survived by her brother Dean (Rebecca) Pearson, sister Colleen (Howard) Hawkes. Her 4 children: Richard (Shirley) Russell, Kathleen (Rex) Bachman, Perry (Joleen) Russell, and Suzanne (Shane) Openshaw. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Myer's Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W in Roy, Utah on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Roy 1st Ward 5850 S 2575 W at 11:00 am. The Family would like to express thanks to Barrington Place and Envision Hospice for their wonder care.
