Thomas J. Ashton Obituary (1921 - 2003)

Thomas J. Ashton SYRACUSE - Thomas J. Ashton, 82, passed away at his home May 8, 2003. He was born January 3, 1921 to Joshua and Sophia Sessions Ashton in Evanston, WY. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a Sunday School teacher and was active working with the youth. He was retired from Hill Air Force Base. He had served in the Department of Aging for 12 years. Recently Thomas was one of nine residents from across the state to be honored with a "Point of Light" award, recognizing the state's most outstanding volunteers. He also received the Carnation Silver Bowl award for service. He is survived by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-law Ila Ashton, Lyman, WY; Cleo Ashton, Evanston, WY; and LeMar Stuart, West Point, UT. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Melvin (Carmen) Stuart, Jay (Sue) Stuart, Steven (Lois) Stuart, Cheryl Bailey, all of Syracuse; and Ruth (Brent) Oram, and Robert (Kim) Stuart, both of West Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister, Virgil, Ralph, Lamar, Merrill Ashton; Mary Ashton Stuart and a niece, Mary Carol Pratt. VisitationMyers Mortuary of Layton 250 N.
