Sgt. Thomas J. Donaldson Obituary (1932 - 2008)

Sgt. Thomas J. Donaldson RIVERDALE- Sgt. Thomas J. Donaldson, 76, passed away October 19, 2008 at his home in Riverdale with "the love of his life by his side". He was born in New York City on August 31, 1932 to the late Thomas Donaldson Sr. and Eugenia Moultrie-Donaldson. Thomas served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 yrs. After retiring from the armed forces he continued to serve his country as a supervisor aircraft engineer. During this time Thomas trained to become a barber. He later opened his own barber shop and cut hair until he was too ill to continue. Surviving are his wife: Lucy Donaldson, his children Claudia (Leroy) Baker, Anthony Williams, Sharlet (Jerry) Drake, Earnest (Cyndi) Nelson Jr, Ulonda Nelson, and Shevonne Nelson; 18 grandchildren: 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly including Miss Ruthie Bates and Carol Hill. Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. Interment will be at Aultorest Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded.
