Thomas Polston

Thomas Jefferson Polston of Roy, Utah passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on January 30, 2024. He was 72 years old.
Tom was born December 23, 1951 in East Prairie, Missouri to Charles Audie Polston and Hattie Marie Cravens Polston. He spent his childhood in Missouri and moved to Utah as a teenager. He lived the remainder of his life in the Weber County area, specifically Ogden, Pleasant View, and Roy. Tom served in the Navy. He completed a tour in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge in San Diego. Then he came home and graduated from Roy High School and attended Weber State University. His major career achievements include 10 years for Ogden City Public Works and 22 years as a Driver/Engineer for Hill Field AFB Fire Department.
Tom was an avid car enthusiast and mechanic. He always kept busy with a project or two. He was a wonderful example of a successful life. He believed in honesty, hard work, and in helping others. But his real focus was his love for his family. His home was always a place where visitors felt welcome.
Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years Shelley Sleeper Polston, his 5 children - Jeff Polston, Ty (Alison) Polston, Brandon (Melissa) Polston, Wynne Malone, Brianna (Jeff) Humann, 18 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, his siblings Charlie (Loretta) Polston, Anna (Bill) Durham, many precious nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, siblings - Sadie (JR) Irby, Carol (Dennis) Heath, and his son Thomas Jefferson Polston Jr.
A memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 12:00 PM with a viewing prior 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S 1900 W Roy, UT.
