Thomas Claude Seppich

OGDEN - Thomas Claude Seppich (Poppy) died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Emeritus Estates in Ogden at the age of 91.

Tom was born November 30, 1915 in Ogden, Utah to Claude Arthur Seppich and Inez Thomas Seppich. He married Vera Garner on July 16, 1938 in Salt Lake City; a union that lasted 62 years. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2000.

Tom Graduated from Ogden High School, Weber College, and Utah State. He served during WWII in the Navy.

Tom worked for the Amalgamated Sugar Company, working his way up from office boy to head of purchasing to VP of industrial and public operations. He retired in 1980 after 43 years of employment.

Tom was a committed member and leader of many civic groups. Tom served as President of both the Toastmasters and the Ogden Lion's Club. Tom also loved his time as a member of the Eagles, Weber State Alumni Association and the Masons. After retirement Tom volunteered as a conductor at the Union Station Museum. Tom's dedication to his civic groups demonstrated his love of all types of people and his unwavering quest for knowledge and adventure.

Tom loved spending time with friends and family, especially up in the mountains. Tom loved entertaining at his prized cabin, it was there that he grew an outstanding garden and would venture out for a fabulous day of fishing. In a world that fears public speaking, Tom thrived on the opportunity and left many an audience in stitches, basking in the moment and wanting more. Above all, we will always treasure the countless jokes, toasts and one liners. Tom had the ability to make the world laugh and we are forever thankful for the gift of a sense o humor he left within all of us.

Surviving are his two children: T. Brent Seppich (Layton); Wendy S. Wright (Liberty): six grandchildren: Laurie Fagg (Ogden), Scott Seppich (Layton), Spencer Seppich (Layton), Stephanie Seppich, Jada (Jason) Moon (So. Ogden), Jessi (Aaron) Rust. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vera, his daughter Sharyl Fagg, his parents, and brother Wendell Seppich.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Emeritus Estates for their love and care that they gave Tom during his six years of what he called "home". Also a big thanks to Pinnacle Hospice. Although your stay was short it was truly appreciated.
