THOMAS FORD SHIRLEY

Thomas Ford Shirley, born August 12, 1949, died July 2, 2003 at his home of natural causes. Tom was born in San Diego, CA to Merle and Clara Shirley. He attended Mission Bay High School in Pacific Beach, CA where he was an avid golfer and weight lifter.

Tom was married to Teresa Ortiz 1974-1985. They had one son, whom he loved, admired and respected, Travis Anthony Ortiz Shirley. He is so proud of you Travis.

He married Martha Thompson in 1992. Although they divorced they remained best friends.

Tom worked for the U.S. Postal Service where he always said he had a good friend he was able to call Boss, Ryan Burnett. Thank you Ryan for being the man that you are.

Tom is survived by his son, Travis; his best friend, Martha Thompson; former wife, Teresa; a step-son, Steven (Billie) Thompson; two step-daughters, Peggy Patten and Tami Thompson and the apples of his eyes, three grandchildren, Steven Thompson, Tristin Martin and Cayla Wayne Patten. Trips to McDonalds will never be the same without our PaPa Tom.
