Thomas Gerald Shock
Ogden - On December 22, 2013, Thomas Gerald Shock passed away peacefully alongside his special buddy Bubba, after a brief but courageous fight with esophageal cancer.
Dad was born on May 22, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Murle and Charlotte Shock. dad resided in Ogden his entire life. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1969. Dad married the love of his life Jalene Amos on January 6, 1971.
Growing up next to the Ogden River dad was a very accomplished fisherman. It didn't matter what the conditions were dad could always find success with his trusty garden hackle. He would put that up against anyone's lure or fly and still out fish them. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, his motto was "if u can't drive to them then don't shoot em". Dad was also a great story teller; he loved to tell stories and enjoyed telling them over and over again. And unlike most people he always had the dramatic pause and as he grew older the pause grew longer and longer.
Dad worked for Sears as a front end mechanic for 14 years. Then after that went on to work for Kimberly-Clark for 22 years until he eventually retired. This is when he started his new hobby of channel surfing. He loved his television and there was heck to pay if his programs were interrupted or canceled.
Surviving are two sons, Neil Shock and Kirk (Kristina) Shock, both of Ogden; also three brothers, Roger, Dennis and David and his sister, Joanne, all of Ogden. Dad also leaves behind three grandsons, Braxton, Tyson, Jacob and his special dog, Bubba. Dad was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Jalene and one brother, Neil.
