Tiede ''Ted'' Tolsma

ROYa"Ted completed his journey on this earth on February 15, 2002. He was our beloved husband, son brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and we already miss him.

Ted was born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands on May 31, 1934, the oldest child of Eelke Tolsma and Tryntje Van Esveld. In September 1956, he immigrated to the United States where he made his home in Ogden, Utah. He loved America, but was always proud to be called a stubborn "Dutchman" for he never forgot his native land. On July 19, 1962 he married Nelda Davis in Winnemucca, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized on March 3, 1976, in the Salt Lake Temple.

He had many interests. He loved to read, study and watch old movies. But his two greatest loves were his family and his work. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed being with his mother and siblings.

He worked at Sanitary Laundry and then at Model Linen Supply. While working at Model Linen he was able to learn and develop his talents as a machinist. After leaving Model Linen he opened and operated his machine shop until September 2001.

Ted is survived by his wife of West Haven, two sons and one daughter; Curtis of Seattle, WA, Garn (Kim) of Nordic Valley, Lori Russell of Ogden. He is also survived by his mother of Ogden, two sisters and one brother, Sita (Glen) Rigby of North Ogden, Gerda (Walter) Helbig of Murray, Andy (Darla) of South Jordan. He has nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Tina Russell.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park Care Center for the tender loving care they provided.
