Toshiuki Tosh Aoki Obituary (1929 - 2017)

Toshiuki "Tosh" Aoki, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Ogden, Utah. He was born on June 15, 1929 in Honeyville, Utah to Koto Kobayashi Aoki and Koichi Aoki. Tosh married Michi Sakurada Aoki on November 21, 1954 in the Honeyville Buddhist Church where he served many positions. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and he played baseball in the Japanese American League. Tosh was a graduate of Utah State University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Business; however, his favorite collegiate activity was billiards. He even won several trophies in the sport. Tosh worked at Thiokol for 33 years until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement, he enjoyed golfing with his son Randy and grandsons. He especially enjoyed it when he shot better scores than they did! Tosh also liked walking the mall nearly every day, logging many miles and chatting with friends. On weekends, he and Michi would often go to Wendover. After she passed away, he regularly spent time playing cards with his friends at Maple Springs. He also looked forward to having lunch at Maddox with his son Larry and friend Bob. Tosh will be missed by his sons, Randy (Karla) Aoki and Larry Aoki; three grandchildren, Heidi (Matt) Landfair, Tyson (Maegan) Aoki, and Kolby (Andi) Aoki, and five great-grandchildren, Allie Aoki, Kolbie Aoki, Alexa Landfair, Blaire Aoki, and Koan Aoki. He is survived by his sisters Nobue (Taro) Sudoko, Miyeko (Kan) Yagi, and Kazue (Bill) Watanabe. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Michi, brother Shige, brothers-in-law: Taro and Kan and son Steven. The Aoki family wishes to thank the staff at Stonehenge of Ogden and Maple Springs in Brigham City for their friendship and care of Tosh. The family also wants to thank Tosh and Michi's neighbors, Doug and Jason and their families, for their support over the years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 am at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am at Myers Mortuary. Interment will be at the Honeyville Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded by the Combined Veterans from Box Elder County.
