Treva Harper Johnson Obituary (1931 - 2015)

Treva Johnson MANTUA - Treva Harper Johnson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Her family was blessed to be by her side until the moment she left their arms and was called home. She was born on November 1, 1931 in Honeyville, Utah to Grover and Eva Harper. Treva married Leon P. Johnson on August 21, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and they were later blessed with five children. She lived in Honeyville, Brigham City and West Corinne until she married and then Mantua and St. George became her homes until her parting. She attended Utah State and Weber State, where she played softball and was known for her "fast pitch." Treva's church callings were many. She loved and held dear to her heart all she ever taught. One of her favorite callings was Stake Dance Director for over seven years. Her talents were and are seen everywhere. She did window displays for J.C. Penney, numerous blue ribbon county fair displays, painting, sculpting, fashion design, sewing, and building. Treva and Leon were the original owners of the Country Store and campground in Mantua. It was first known as the "Fun Spot," and as it developed, it became the "L & T" Campground and finally, the Country Store. They also designed and built their three homes, two in Mantua and one in St. George. Treva is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Leon P. Johnson; children: Jana (Bob) Stockdale, Montana; Paula (Rick) Russell, Virginia; Tamara (Scott) Larkin; Harper (Janis) and Rebecca Baron, all of Mantua, her 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and her loving sister, Audrene (Ray) Wayman of Layton. Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Ezra and Neil Harper. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mantua LDS Chapel, 237 S., Willard Peak Road. A viewing will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E. Brigham City, and Thursday 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. prior to the services in Mantua. Interment will be in the Mantua Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Dr.'s, Integrity, home teachers, visiting teachers and friends who have taken a loving part in helping and serving her.
