Troy Hoggan

–

Roy, Utah

We have paid the price to become acquainted with God. We know him, we trust him, and we love him. It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden loss of Troy James Hoggan who passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2026. He died in his sleep at his home at the premature age of 51. Troy was a devoted family man who was generous with his time and loved spending it with his family and friends. He was an incredible father, grandfather, husband, brother, and son who brought many smiles with his quick-witted humor. He will be sorely missed, and our lives will never be the same without him.

Troy was born in Provo, Utah on March 2, 1974, Troy lived an adventurous and fulfilling life, characterized by his love for his family, his church, and the great outdoors. He could smile through anything. His compassionate spirit and humorous nature made him a cherished presence in our lives and in the lives of his friends.

Troy's journey led him from his childhood home in Ogden, Utah to Roy, where he built a life centered around his family and his faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As an insurance agent at AAA Insurance, Troy worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones. His zest for life extended to his hobbies. He was an intense video gamer, and an avid mountain biker. He was very good at, and enjoyed capoeira, a Brazilian martial art. He even taught it at Weber State University for several years. He also loved hiking and shooting. He was a voracious reader, usually finishing three or four books per week. He loved cooking for his family, and barbeque was his favorite. He went to the movies several times a week. He was a drummer and music was his true passion. As a kid he won many spelling bees and was always challenging nieces and nephews to spell a word correctly. He collected all sorts of little knickknacks and had a new joke every day. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, and being a grandpa. He loved cartoons as much as the kids did. He had an intense love for his family, obvious to all who saw his devotion.

He was preceded in death by his mother Debbie and his sister Mandy who were there to meet him when he came to heaven. Troy is survived by his wife, Susan "Susie" Hoggan, his children; Ayani, Cutlip (Dalan), Kaori (Virgil), and Kaymin, and siblings; Heidi Krieve (Dave), Heather Ukena, Shay Hoggan, and Ryan Hoggan (Christine). He is also survived by his father Jim Hoggan and his grandchildren Pi and Hendrix (Ayani's sons), and Violet (Kaori's daughter). He also has many loving nieces and nephews.
