Uldine "Denny" Sisk Hendricks
LAS VEGAS - Uldine "Denny" Hendricks, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, of colon cancer.
She was born in Madisonville, Kentucky June 17, 1931, to Marion R. Sisk and Mildred Shadrick Sisk.
Denny married Harold Eugene Hendricks on August 8, 1947. They lived in El Paso, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Las Cruses, NM, and settled in Las Vegas, NV in 1963 where they managed Karl's Shoe store. With both pursuing career changes, Denny worked and managed many of Vegas' finest gift shops: Caesars Palace, the Tropicana and McCarran International Airport.
After 56 years of marriage, she lost the love of her life on February 03, 2004 and spent the rest of her life trying to put her puzzle back together but always missing him, which was her one vital piece.
Denny always impeccably dressed was the most beautiful woman in Vegas. She loved animals and spoiled her dogs and cats with lots of goodies and love. Christmas time at her house was truly a winter wonderland while collecting and displaying Department 56 houses and decorating the most spectacular tree ever seen.
She loved to watch old movies, especially Westerns. Her greatest love was her family. She was babysitter and fill-in mom for her grandchildren. After she became a great-grandmother, she was loving and respectfully known as "Granny." Unselfish, she served everyone she could and her family will remember her acts of kindness. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her sons, Bruce (Judi) Hendricks, Henderson, NV; Gary (Tami) Hendricks, Roy, UT; six grandchildren: Renae (Corey) Steele, Stacey (Ben) Chambliss, Katie (Michael) Weber, Harland (Jonida) Hendricks, Ryan (Tiffany) Hendricks, Chelsea Woertink, (Jeremy Woertink) and (Dave Johnson). The greatest joy were her five great-grandchildren; Ashley, Amiah, Hailey, Hannah and Ian with two more on the way.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her brother, Charles Sisk and her sister, Sharon Summers.
Now back together with her one true love, the puzzle is again complete.
The family wishes to thank Wayne and Elaine Walker and the Angels from both Creekside Hospice and Hospice for Utah especially Aubrey and Maggie for their loving care.
