Valentina Murphy Norwood

–

Ogden, Utah

It is with heartfelt sorrow and tender reflection that we announce the passing of Valentina C. Murphy, affectionately known by many as Tina. Born on June 21, 1966, in Stockton, CA, Valentina was a beacon of love, loyalty, and wit, whose infectious laughter brought joy to everyone around her. On July 7, 2026, she completed her earthly journey and returned to her heavenly home.

Valentina was a loving and supportive woman who put her heart and soul into everything she did. Her employment at Weber Human Services as a Peer Support was a testament to her dedication to helping others, demonstrating her empathetic nature and unwavering commitment to her community. Despite the challenges she faced, Valentina's resilient spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her favorite pastimes included reading, going for walks, and watching movies, activities that she often shared with her beloved children and grandchildren.

As a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Valentina's faith played an integral part in her life. It was her guiding light and her source of strength, and she lived by the words from the scripture: "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest" (Joshua 1:9). This verse encapsulates Valentina’s life; she was strong, courageous, and unafraid to face life's challenges, always trusting that God was by her side.

Valentina is survived by her adoring daughters, Claywanda Norwood, Clarresha Norwood, Monique Cottrell, Aikyrea Norwood, Clayton Norwood Jr., and her cherished 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.. She was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, but her memories will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
