Valoy Wood Watson Obituary (1935 - 2006)

Valoy Wood Watson PLAIN CITY - Valoy Wood Watson, 70, passed away January 31, 2006 from complications of pneumonia. Valoy was born December 10, 1935 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Ellis Lyn Wood and Annie Brown Gunnell. She married Robert Clark Watson on November 27, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed together for time and all eternity. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had many opportunities to serve her Father in Heaven including her last assignment as a missionary in the inner city Ogden mission, in the Pioneer Ward. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Valoy worked a couple of summers in Yellowstone National Park and also at the Ogden Temple. She spent the last 48 years of her life serving and raising her family. She is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Lloyd Wayne Watson, Plain City; five daughters, Cheryl Lyn Watson, Plain City; Lanay Watson, Plain City; Teresa Kay (Michael) Buckley, Roy; Kara Lee Smith, South Ogden; and Kristen Marie (Stephen) Jones, Farmington; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Doris Wood King and Edith Ann Wood, and a brother-in-law, Orvil Ronald Jorgenson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 5th Ward Chapel, 4630 West 2150 North, with Bishop Gary Thompson officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
