VELMA MUNN FISHER
9/29/1918 - 3/28/2005
WEST POINT - On Monday, March 28, our beautiful angelic mother, Velma Irene Munn Fisher, returned home to God and her savior whom she loves. She was a queenly example of kindness, purity, love, charity and patience to all. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and was not capable of guile.
She is very dear to all her children and grandchildren. We will sorely miss her sweet presence, but are thankful her final trial is finished. We know a grand reunion of loving family and friends is taking place in heaven. Joy will be hers, and she will be especially happy to see her Blaine.
Velma was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life, serving faithfully in many positions in Sunday School, Relief Society, Primary and MIA. She was employed in the grocery business for numerous years.
She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Blaine Fisher. They were married December 16, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple, and were together for 63 years. Two grandsons, Adam Fisher and Ryan Furness, also preceded her in earthly graduation. She is survived by her six children, Dan (Merle) Fisher, Kathleen (Mike) Furness, Mary Denhalter, Patricia (Tom) Regan, Mike (Becky) Fisher, and David Fisher, 20 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Thank you sweet mom for your awesome heritage and example of righteousness and love, your decades of hard work for our benefit, the thousands of jars of home canned food, the endless number of meals you cooked for us and anyone else you knew was in need. Thank you for blessing our lives over and over again. You are the perfect mother and we can't wait to hug you again.
