VERA CHRISTENSEN MCARTHUR

HOOPER - Vera Christensen McArthur, 88, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was born on December 16, 1921, to Orson Bond and Eva Manning Christensen, at home.

She met John Ole McArthur through friends at work. They were married in her mother's living room on June 7, 1946. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 27, 1948. Ole passed away on October 28, 1987, after forty-one years of marriage.

Vera was a homemaker. She loved her home and was happiest when she was there. She loved baking and always had cookies and bread ready for any who would partake. She enjoyed reading, music, and gardening in her yard.

Vera graduated from Weber High School and Seminary.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was always active and served in all organizations.

Vera is survived by her children; ReNae (Ed) Pattillo, John O. (Naomi) McArthur, Lloyd (Darhl) McArthur, Scott (Helen) McArthur, Susan (Greg) Randall, 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, with two on the way, who were her world. They are: Chad, Aaron, Lisa, Nate, Paul, Stacie, Heidi, Dan, Jake, Lesley, Kristi, Spencer, Clayton, Howard, Dustin, Luke, Lori, Marie, Jennifer, Rod and Tyler.

She is also survived by sisters in law that she was very close to; Opal Gandee, Vivian Pickett, Selena Mortensen, BurnaDean Blake, Bonnie Everett, and Beth Widdison.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ole, son Don, parents, siblings, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Dr. Gary Christensen and CNS Hospice for their kind and loving care. We appreciate the support of ward members, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hooper Park Ward, 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper, Utah. Friends and family may call on Sunday, February 28, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Monday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church.

Interment in the Hooper City Cemetery.
