Vera Patterson

CLINTON: Vera Lucille Berrett Patterson, 99, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009.

She was born on December 31, 1909, in North Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Orson Toone Berrett and Clara May Dixon Berrett.

On May 22, 1930 she married Grant Patterson in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Clinton, Utah area before moving to Oregon in 1945 when they farmed for many years.

She was the mother of six children, Verl Patterson, Dale (Arlene) Patterson, Marvin (Barbara) Patterson of Clinton, Utah; Reed (Linn) Patterson, Prineville, Oregon; Douglas Patterson, Provo, Utah; and Kathleen (Kip) Anderson, Clinton, Utah. Vera has 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Vera was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many positions including Young Women's MIA, Relief Society and Sunday School. She was famous for her bread and delicious homemade pies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.

Friends may call on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be in the Owyhee Cemetery in Nyssa, Oregon at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009.
