Vernon Grason Bowen

OGDEN - Vernon Grason Bowen, 86, died December 11, 2007 in Clinton, Utah. He was born July 2, 1921 the son of John Grason and Ann Pet Austin Bowen. Vernon joined the Marines and served his country from Jan. 1942 to Jan. 1946. He was a proud Veteran of WWII.

He married Dorothy Elizabeth Askea on June 4, 1948 in Farmington, Utah. She preceded him in death April 8, 2005.

Vernon was employed as a millwright foreman at HAFB for 33 years. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He and Dorothy were snowbirds. Vernon loved and enjoyed his family.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Bruce) Densley, Virgin, UT, Gary (Elvida) Bowen, Clearfield, Marcia (Dennis) Wilson, Plain City; son-in-law David Beddes, Layton; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter Sandra and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends and family may call Thursday, December 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
