Vicki Obray

–

North Ogden, Utah

Vicki Obray, a beacon of compassion and reliability, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026. She was born in Logan, Utah, on February 16, 1943, to Dale and Alice Nelson. Vicki met and married her high school sweetheart, Larry, and together they moved to North Ogden, where they had the adventure of raising seven sons.

Vicki lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to her family. Known for her unwavering commitment to those she loved, she made every person feel cherished and important. As a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Vicki found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family. Whether cooking a beloved family recipe, quilting a warm and cozy blanket, or sharing stories of her favorite crime shows, her love for her family was always at the heart of everything she did.

Vicki was renowned for her dedication to serving her community. She worked and volunteered at the Heart Institute at McKay Dee Hospital, providing comfort and care for those in need. In her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vicki served faithfully as a Relief Society president, in the Young Women's Presidency, and the Primary Presidency. This service was a testament to her love for her faith and her commitment to helping others. A verse that embodied Vicki's spirit is found in Mosiah 2:17, "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

Vicki's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she, alongside her late husband Larry, owned and operated Obray Drywall. A reflection of her resilience and determination, this achievement was one Vicki was particularly proud of. Yet, despite her many accomplishments, what mattered most to Vicki was her family. She was a loving mother to her sons Jeff (Tammie), Michael (deceased), Robert (deceased, Jennifer), Mathew (Jessica), Kevin (deceased), Dustin, and Jed. She was proud of her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband Larry, her sons Michael, Robert, and Kevin, and her parents Dale and Alice.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Spring Gardens Assisted Living Center. Their amazing staff, both current and former, gave so generously of their time and care each day. We are deeply grateful to Hannah Shepherd with Aspire Home Healthcare & Hospice. Without your compassionate support and guidance, we could not have made it through these past years, and especially these final weeks.

We invite all who knew and loved Vicki to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page at www.myers-mortuary.com/obituaries/vicki-obray. Each story and each picture is a precious reminder of the loving, compassionate, and deeply reliable woman we were so blessed to know. May her legacy of service and love continue to inspire and guide us.
