Our beautiful precious angel wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend Vicki Ann Vaterlaus passed away from this life unexpectedly but peacefully: surrounded by family on October 4, 2016, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. She was 62.
A woman of faith and service, she shared her time, talents, and kindness with many. She had a contagious smile and a winning personality. Our mother was a devoted homemaker and incredible caregiver to her grandchildren. She was well known as an excellent cook, she loved to crotchet, and was an amazing seamstress. Her family was her pride and joy and she marveled that she should be so blessed with what she and my dad built in their lifetime together.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in every calling or commitment she was bestowed. Living the Gospel in every aspect of her life and teaching others along the way, she was truly an inspiration to all.
Vicki was born on April 20, 1954 in Lansing, Michigan to David and Catherine Haupt. She grew up in southern California and after graduation her parents moved to Salem, UT. She married her college (BYU University) sweetheart "J" Adair Vaterlaus on June 20, 1980, in the Logan Temple. She was adored and cherished by Adair for more than 36 years.
She is survived by her husband, parents, siblings (David, Karen, Linda, and Keith), children (Autumn, Tony, and Angelica), son in Law (Derrick), and grandchildren (Tyson and Jackson).
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of McKay Dee ICU for their tender and compassionate care of Vicki during her last few days there.
