Violet Clark Peterson
OGDEN - Violet Clark Peterson, 83, passed away Monday, May 26, 2003 in Ogden, Utah.
She was born December 23, 1919 in Oakley, Wyoming, the first daughter of William and Sarah Fearn Clark. Violet married Kendall Peterson on February 7, 1942, in Diamondville, Wyoming. On March 13, 1942 they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. This year they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
She worked for the Diamondville School District, Lincoln County Treasurer, and retired as an employee of Utah Power and Light Co. Following their retirement, she and Kendall moved from Kemmerer, Wyoming to S. Ogden, Utah.
Violet was a person who always thought of others first, and herself last, if at all. Everyone who met her instantly loved her. Her neighbors knew her as a thoughtful person who always shared her delicious baked goods. The family enjoyed many wonderful Sunday dinners from her kitchen. She loved to have her family around, and delighted in their accomplishments. She was a woman of many talents and enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, knitting, doll-making, sewing, cooking, and gardening. She was generous with all she created, giving many treasured gifts to her family.
Violet and Kendall moved to Emeritus Estates Assisted Living in January of 2002. She was happy from the day they moved in, and quickly made many friends with residents and staff. The family wishes to thank the entire Emeritus staff and Hospice personnel who loved her and helped make her last days comfortable.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Kendall. Also surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Dent and Kathy Mason of S. Ogden, Utah; Evan and Patricia Thorley of Billings, Montana; and Larry and Ann Saslaw of Bakersfield, California. Violet dearly loved and was proud of her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Fern Hunzie, and two brothers, Clyde (Betty) Clark and Bill (Vangie) Clark.
