Wanda Faye (Blevins) Sims

OGDEN - Wanda Faye (Blevins) Sims, 60, passed away at her home on June 15, 2010 from a courageous battle with lung cancer. Wanda was born on May 6, 1950 in Marion Virginia. She later married the love of her life on May 3, 1969.

Wanda's work career was 18 years at the Smyth County Hospital in Marion Virginia and then 20 years at Manor Care Nursing Home in Ogden.

Wanda loved being surrounded by her family and many friends. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and writing poetry.

Wanda is survived by her husband Randall "Sonny" Sims of Ogden, three daughters - Treva (Russell) Knight, Marsha Sims and Miranda (Gerald) Lee, all of Ogden, one son - Tracy (Kim) Sims of Ogden, two brothers - Ronnie (Theresa) Blevins and Gary (Ruth) Blevins of Marion Virginia, two half brothers - Paul Blevins of Wyoming and Kurt Blevins of Kentucky, 13 grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Lillian B. Leonard and Paul Blevins, one sister - Joann Stamper, and one brother - Marshall Blevins. We wish to thank Econo Waste, Love Homecare and Hospice for their big hearts, support and care they gave to Wanda and her family.

The angels in heaven are rejoicing today. Because they are reunited with a special person, one of faith. Wanda is pure of heart and she loved everyone. She never thought of herself, only those that needed a helping hand. Talk about a special mom - none could beat her! She's a one of a kind, she was super. Wanda always gave 100%. Anything less just didn't make sense. We will miss our dear beloved mom. But we know we'll see her in heaven when our time has come.

Funeral service will be held at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends my visit on Friday, June 18 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary.
