Wayne V. Cook
The love of my life has gone to a better place, where he is out of pain. He succumbed to cancer on April 12, 2010 at his winter home in Yuma, AZ, surrounded by his extended Yuma family and friends. He was born October 18, 1947 in Ogden, UT the son of Clora D. Harrington and Frank Cook, who preceded him in death. Wayne was raised in a large family with five brothers, Larry and Chris Cook, Leonard and Earlene Cook, Richard and Sandy Cook, Bruce and LeAnn Cook, Scott and Stacy Cook, and sis Colleen and Vern Blair.
Wayne had four children; Shane and Brandon Cook, Wendy and Tony Purdum, Anjie and Chad Reese, Mike and Tresta Leavitt; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and served in the US Army.
In 1980 he met the love of his life, Joetta Davenport, who has had so many memories and a great 30 years of fun with such a kind, loving person. He is gone but not forgotten, he will live in our hearts forever. I want to thank all of our friends who have helped me through this difficult time and appreciate all they have done for me. You know who you all are.
Wayne was an avid carver of fantasy houses and always had good ideas. He loved making them and giving them to friends and family. He won ribbons for them at the fair in Star Valley, where his summer home is. He loved the beauty, golf and friends he had there.
There will be a celebration of his life at Star Valley Ranch to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cancer Society.
