HOOPER - Wayne M. Eliason, 61, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Mt Ogden Health and Rehab Center.

He was born August 26, 1947 to Frank C. and Gertrude Barlow Eliason.

Wayne graduated from Weber High School.

He served in the Air Force Reserves for six years during the Vietnam Conflict.

Wayne's whole life has been around horses. He was raised on his father's horse farm in Roy. Wayne rode in both the Jr. Posse and helped start Roy Sr. Posse. Later he moved to California where he learned to shoe horses and ran his fathers new ranch in Sanger, California. Wayne was a horse trainer and loved chariot racing. He liked pheasant hunting with his dogs.

Survived by his father Frank Eliason and three children: Kimberly (Ted) Hoganson, Shane Peterson, and Dustin Searle; four grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are siblings David (Lynette) Eliason, Norma Jean (Terry) Lewis, Kathleen (Jay) Johnson and Martin (Wendy) Eliason.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Family and friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
